I have been active in development co-operation for 10 years.

At present, I am available as independent consultant in this field, providing services for development projects of NGOs, government agencies, international organisations and research institutes.

Academic background in development issues

During my university studies I was able to acquire a profound theoretical background on development issues as basis for the understanding of developmental problems and possible solutions.

Currently, I am keeping up with the academic discussion on development issues as well as political science by pursuing for a doctoral degree in development studies.

Practical experience in development co-operation

My practical experience includes work in the fields of community development, empowerment of women, management of natural resources, good governance and economic development, allowing me a broad view on the complexity of poverty reduction.

Positions in NGOs, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the EU and consultancy firms – both in Europe, overseas and beyond the mountains - provided me with an excellent understanding of development practice at different levels, the cooperation among the different players and the interaction between development cooperation and development policy.

In particular, I am well-experienced in project planning, co-ordination and monitoring and evaluation. This includes inter alia use of participatory methods and logical framework, complemented by excellent research and reporting skills and good financial management skills.
